DPI (Dots per Inch)

DPI steht für Dots per Inch und beschreibt die Druckauflösung eines Bildes.

Der Wert gibt an, wie viele Druckpunkte auf einem Zoll dargestellt werden.

Höhere DPI-Werte bedeuten meist:

  • feinere Details

  • schärfere Drucke

  • bessere Druckqualität

Typische Werte:

  • 72 DPI → Bildschirmdarstellung

  • 300 DPI → hochwertiger Fotodruck

DPI beeinflusst vor allem:

  • Druckgröße

  • Schärfewirkung im Print

  • Detaildarstellung

Für digitale Bilder auf Monitoren spielt DPI dagegen meist eine deutlich kleinere Rolle als die eigentliche Pixelauflösung.

Kurz gesagt:
DPI beschreibt die Druckauflösung eines Bildes und die Anzahl der Druckpunkte pro Zoll.
